Because of all the property damage, Smith worries that her homeowner’s insurance policy will increase. The estimated total for reparation is $20,000.
The driver, Smith, is facing multiple charges for this crime, which are: driving under the influence, driving under suspension, fleeing and eluding, and driving an unregistered vehicle.
The number one cause for car accidents is negligent driving, which negatively affect the lives of those involved. Negligent driving includes: driving under the influence, speeding, utilizing a cell phone, looking away from the road, and talking to another passenger. Negligent driving is a choice and easily fixable; however, the damages and losses victims suffer are not. The homeowner, Smith, has a right to receive compensation for the damages her home suffered due to another person’s negligence.
