1 Reportedly Injured in Dover Township 3-Vehicle Crash
Dover, PA (August 31, 2017) – An officer from the State Highway Patrol cited a 40-year-old man from Dover for failure to yield the Right-of-Way from a stop sign. His action led to a three-vehicle crash on state Route 39 at Red Hill Road around 7:02 a.m. August 29.
According to Trooper Mike Maddock, the man drove his vehicle on Red Hill Road. After stopping, he turned left towards westbound Route 39. This action led him to crash with an eastbound tank truck hauling septic tank waste.
The impact of the crash sent the tank truck left-of-center and hitting the left side of another westbound semi tractor-trailer hauling garbage.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the sedan sustained a cut on his right hand as well as scrapes on his leg. Medics from the Dover Fire Department treated the man at the scene. He was later transported to Union Hospital via a private vehicle.
The crash led to the closure of the road for almost an hour and a half, as officers conducted their investigation into the crash. This was also the amount of time it took to clean up the septic waste and fuel spilled from one of the tankers.
