Sandy Township, PA (July 18, 2018) On Wednesday afternoon, around 3:25 p.m., a woman named Linda Robinson drove her vehicle on Interstate 80 east of Sher De Lin Road when it veered off the road. She proceeded to lose control of her car as she tried to steer it back onto the road. Her vehicle then went through both lanes and hit an embankment, which caused her car to flip over onto its roof. Life Flight flew Robinson to the nearest hospital due to her severe injuries. Robinson also had a passenger in her vehicle that ejected through the window. He died at this scene. His name was Carl B. Schultz.
It’s unclear what caused the accident; however, investigators will determine who is liable and at fault.
All drivers have a responsibility to pay attention to the road at all times. The most common reason for car accidents is negligent driving, such as texting, eating, talking to another passenger, driving under the influence, or falling asleep at the wheel. Although negligent driving is considered the most common cause, there are other causes, too. Bad road conditions, certain weather conditions, and/or defective auto parts are other common causes.
