Sandy Township Accident Injures Two

Sandy Township Accident Injures Two (November 29, 2017) A Sandy Township accident injures two motorist on Wednesday afternoon near the Frito-Lay distribution center on Rich Highway.

The Courier Express reports that the accident took place shortly after five o’clock on Wednesday afternoon on Rich Highway just near the location of Frito-Lay’s distribution center and the accident had traffic tied up in both directions on Rich Highway for hours.

Involved in the crash was a GMC Envoy, which is a medium size sport utility vehicle, and a Dodge 4 x 4 truck.  The Fire Chief of Sandy Township, Steve Dunlap said that the driver of the GMC Envoy, a woman, was injured badly enough for a medical flight via helicopter to Altoona.  No details about the woman or the extent of her injuries was immediately available.  Dunlap also reported that the driver of the Dodge 4 x 4, a male person age and name unknown, was transported to Penn Highlands Hospital by ambulance.  The extent of his injuries is not yet known.

Dunlap also shared that there were two others associated with the accident who refused to be treated, no word on either of these people or specifically what caused this accident.
