Burgettstown, Pennsylvania (August 23, 2017) – Two people were hospitalized Sunday night after they were hurt in an accident in Burgettstown, McDonald police said.
The motorcycle-car crash occurred at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, August 20 at Market and South Main Streets.
Johnson was traveling south on Main Street and on approaching the intersection at Market Street, the traffic signal turned red. He sped up while attempting to beat the light but unfortunately a vehicle driven by Jessica Shanor, 37, of Langeloth made a left turn. Johnson’s motorbike hit the rear quarter panel of the car.
Johnson was transported to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital for treatment while his 20-year-old passenger, Deidra Edwards of Stone Creek was transported to Weirton (W.Va) Medical Center. Shanor was checked at the crash site.
Police believed alcohol might have been a factor contributing to the accident since a metal flask that appeared to contain alcohol was found on the road.
