Person Dies After Shipping Container Crushes Pickup Truck in Philadelphia Industrial Accident

Philadelphia, PA – A man was killed Monday afternoon in an industrial accident involving a shipping container and pickup truck in South Philadelphia, authorities said.

The incident took place at about 12:10 p.m. Monday, July 10, at the Packer Marine Terminal located in the 3300 block of Christopher Columbus Boulevard.

Emergency Crews responded to the scene and found a shipping container had fallen and crushed a pickup truck.

A 52-year-old man died in the industrial accident, police said.

The man was declared dead at 12:35 p.m. the same day.

The cause of the incident remained under investigation.
