Leetsdale, Pennsylvania (September 9, 2017) – A Pedestrian was killed after being struck by a train in Leetsdale on Saturday.

According to the officials of the Norfolk Southern Railroad, the incident happened at around 1:20 a.m. September 9, on Norfolk Southern’s Fort Wayne Line, near Ohio River Boulevard

As per the statement, a man was walking on the tracks when he was hit by the westbound train. The crew had sounded the horn and applied emergency brakes but could not stop the train early enough.

The identity of the victim was not immediately established.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
