Officer Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Center Avenue in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (September 26, 2017) – A police officer was injured in a motorcycle accident on Center Avenue in Pittsburgh on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a local news source, the collision happened at about 3 p.m. September 26, in the 5200 block of Center Avenue near UPMC Shadyside.

The Pittsburgh police motorcycle officer was riding his bike when he collided with another vehicle.

Details on the events preceding the crash were not revealed, but the city police spokesperson confirmed that the officer sustained moderate injuries.

The injured officer was taken to UPMC Mercy for treatment.

More details on the crash were not immediately available.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is underway.
