Motorist Injured in Collision Involving Train in Upper Leacock

Upper Leacock Township, Pennsylvania (September 8, 2017) – One person was injured in a collision involving a Norfolk Southern train and a vehicle in Upper Leacock Township, Lancaster County, on Thursday morning.

According to a statement by Norfolk Southern, the accident happened at about 6:25 a.m. September 7, at the intersection of Hess Road and Morgan Drive in Leola.

As per the report, the vehicle drove in front of the train at the intersection and was struck. Train crew says they sounded a bell and the horn before the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck was injured in the collision and was taken to the hospital.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
