Police Officer Injured after being Hit Twice by Dirt Bike in Lehigh County
Allentown, Pennsylvania (September 22, 2017) – Two men on a dirt bike were arrested on Wednesday evening in Lehigh County after allegedly buzzing pedestrians and hitting a police officer.
The incident took place before 6 p:m, September 20, at the arena in the 700 block of Hamilton Street, in Allentown.
According to police, the dirt bike riders were buzzing past pedestrians and annoying. One of the dirt bikes clipped a police officer as he tried to get them to stop. The officers including the one who had been clipped chased them.
The dirt bikes fled South Allentown.
One of the dirt bikes hit the same officer who had been hit earlier and crashed. Luis Angel Cruz, 21, who had been driving and Roberto Sanchez, 19, who had been a passenger were arrested when they tried to flee.
The injured police officer was treated and released at an area hospital for minor injuries.
Cruz is being held on $ 35,000 bail while Sanchez is on $ 5,000 bail.
Officials are trying to locate the other suspects.
An investigation was still underway.
