Mini-Van Crash in Allegheny CountyWhen one vehicle full of passengers collides with another, there is sure to be some serious injuries. At least 5 and possibly 8 people were injured in a motor vehicle accident in North Versailles this afternoon. The crash occurred in the 200 block of Lincoln Highway just after 4:00 p.m. A helicopter had to be brought in to fly one victim to the hospital.

Police say that the Allegheny County crash happened when a mini-van made a U-turn in front of another vehicle. At the time of the accident, there were 3 people in the car and 5 people in the mini-van. According to police and paramedics, one victim was flown to the hospital with a serious, possibly catastrophic injury to the head. Four other victims were taken to local hospitals, although the extent of their injuries is unknown.

The seriousness of a crash like this cannot be overstated. The apparent need to remain aware and alert while behind the wheel remains a detrimental necessity.
