Eldred Township, Pennsylvania (August 29, 2017) – Three people were injured in a two vehicle collision on State Route 36 in Eldred Township, Jefferson County.
Reports from Marienville-based State Police indicate that the incident happened at about 11:39 a.m. August 26 within a construction zone on the roadway.
At least two cars were involved in the collision; a 2008 Jeep Liberty driven by 20-year-old Keyah M. Anderson, of Warren, and a 2017 Hyundai Ioniq driven by 57-year-old Joseph I. Nagel, of Butler.
According to the police, the vehicles were initially stopped on the roadway before a flagger waved them through. The Jeep immediately accelerated and rear ended the Hyundai which had not started moving.
Nagel and two passengers in the Hyundai sustained injuries of unknown severity and were taken to Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital for treatment.
Anderson, however, was not injured in the collision.
The police established that all the occupants of the vehicles were using seatbelts.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, but Anderson has since been charged with a traffic violation.
