John Shane Airlifted to Hospital After Two-Vehicle Collision on Old Augusta Road
Warren, PA (August 29, 2017) – A wounded motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital after he sustained injuries from a collision with another vehicle on Route 235 Sunday morning.
According to the report of the Deputies from the Knox County Sheriff’s office, a 2005 BMW SUV crashed into a 2008 BMW motorcycle at the intersection of Route 235 and Old Augusta Road shortly before 10:30 a.m. August 27.
The report shows that the 57-year-old David Kristiansen, of Waldoboro, drove his SUV eastbound on Route 235 when a northbound motorcycle, driven by 75-year-old John Shane, of Rockland, crashed into his vehicle at the intersection. Witnesses said Kristiansen’s vehicle was stopped at a stop sign.
Shane was unable to stop his motorcycle to avoid crashing into the SUV. His vehicle hit the SUV’s passenger side doors and sent him flying from his motorcycle. Shane was transported to a mid-Maine hospital via a LifeFlight helicopter for the treatment of a broken leg and possible internal injuries.
No other individual was injured in the crash.
