Injured Motorist Trapped in Car after Collision with Truck at Routes 22 and 981

New Alexandria, Pennsylvania (September 28, 2017) – A man was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Westmoreland County on Tuesday morning, according to Westmoreland County 911 dispatchers.

The collision occurred at just before 9 a.m. at the intersection of Routes 22 and 981 in New Alexandria.

Although the manner in which the collision occurred was not stated, the report indicated that a Pontiac Sunfire and a flatbed truck were involved in the collision.

Emergency crews arriving at the scene found a trapped in his overturned car. The man was extricated and transported by Mutual Aid to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

His identity had not yet been released.

An investigation into the collision is underway.
