Hunting Park, Philly: Male Rider, 18, Killed in Dirt Bike Crash on Whitaker Avenue

Hunting Park, Philadelphia (July 4, 2017) – A motorcyclist lost his life Thursday afternoon last week after he crashed his bike into parked vehicles on a street in Hunting Park.

According to a report by the police, an 18-year-old man was involved in the crash at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday, June 22 on the 3800 block of Whitaker Avenue.

The victim was traveling south on the Avenue on his 2001 Yamaha motorbike when he tried to go around a box truck which was turning onto Erie Avenue. The dirt bike rider lost control and struck two parked cars. He ended up underneath the rear passenger side of the truck.

Paramedics responded to the crash and rushed the victim to Temple University Hospital where he died of his injuries.

The 31-year-old driver behind the wheel of the truck was not injured.
