Head-on collisions tend to yield the most devastating results, which was proven again today when three people died in a crash in St. Thomas Township. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on the 10000 block of Lincoln Way West at 10:18 this morning. It was there that two sedans met head-on, resulting in a horrifying crash.
Pennsylvania state police dispatched Troopers from Chambersburg barracks to the scene, as well as the Franklin Fire Company. According to the fire department, four people were involved in the collision, and two of them had been trapped in their vehicles. Medical units and helicopters were called to the scene, although one helicopter could not land because of weather conditions. A man, a woman, and a young, 11-year-old child were rushed to Chambersburg Hospital where they, unfortunately, passed away. One other man was taken to Holy Spirit Hospital in Carlisle with catastrophic injuries.
