Tractor Trailers Crash Near CarlisleA multiple-vehicle motor vehicle accident that involved two tractor-trailers in South Middleton Township was responsible for injuries, as well as closing down the I-81 this morning. The crash happened in the northbound lanes right around 8:30 this morning when one tractor-trailer rear-ended another, causing a multi-vehicle crash. One truck driver, Deandra Williams, 52, slowed down due to traffic and was unexpectedly hit by Donald Charlton, 62, who was also driving a commercial vehicle.

Although commercial trucking accidents often yield horrifying results, the victims of this accident are fortunately alive, yet suffering from severe injuries today. Police say that both Deandra Williams and her passenger, Leroy Williams were transported to UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle for their injuries, while Charlton was rushed to Holy Spirit Hospital with unknown injuries. I-81 Northbound traffic was detoured for a while but reopened shortly after 3 pm. While many details are still emerging, and the accident remains under investigation, we are simply thankful that this crash wasn’t as detrimental as it could have been.

At Edelstein, Martin & Nelson, we absolutely understand the injurious repercussions of almost any accident, let alone those that include large commercial trucks.
