A man from Pennsylvania died today from the injuries he suffered last night on a job site. The mishap can be considered a construction accident since the man, 42, whose name has not been released, was a subcontractor who worked at ITW Devcon. This is a serious adhesives manufacturer located on Endicott Street in Danvers, and they are typically able to avoid such controversial mishaps, although this one serves to remind us all that accidents can happen at any time.
According to the Essex District Attorney’s Office, the man was there fixing a piece of equipment. A portion “fell on him, causing catastrophic injuries” according to the spokeswoman, Carrie Kimball-Monahan. The Danvers Fire Chief stated that the man was allegedly on a ladder when he was injured by the falling equipment before he fell more than 10 feet to the ground. Although the victim was conscious after the accident, he was placed in an ambulance and then transported by helicopter. The victim who was set to be flown to Boston suffered from cardiac arrest in the ambulance, and he was pronounced dead at Beverly Hospital.
