4 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Parkway East in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (September 7, 2017) – At least four people were injured in a traffic accident on Parkway East in Pittsburgh on Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported at about 11:30 a.m. September 6, in the westbound lanes of Parkway East near Bates Street in Oakland.

Four vehicles including a tanker truck were involved in the crash.

Paramedics confirmed that four people were injured in the crash. One of the victims had to be extricated from a car which had slid underneath the tanker truck. The severity of the injuries, however, could not be immediately established.

The crash resulted in the closure of the westbound lanes of the highway between Glenwood exit and Boulevard of the Allies exit as the authorities conducted an investigation.
