Two People Injured in Hampton Three-Vehicle Collision on Pennsylvania Turnpike
Hampton, Pennsylvania (August 22, 2017) – At least two people were taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle collision occurred Tuesday morning in Hampton, a local news source reported.
The accident happened at around 10:24 a.m. Tuesday, August 22 on Pennsylvania Turnpike between the Route 8 and Interstate 79.
At the time of the report, it was not yet determined why the crash, involving three vehicles, happened.
Emergency responders freed one person who was trapped inside one of the vehicles.
Authorities had to shut down the highway in both directions to give space for a medical helicopter to land and transport one of the victims to the hospital. Another patient was taken to the hospital via a ground ambulance.
By 1:30 p.m., all clearing operations were concluded, and traffic flow resumed.
