One Dies and Another Injured in Henderson Township Car-Buggy Crash on William Penn Highway
Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania (August 20, 2017) – One person died, and another was taken to a hospital with serious injuries in a crash that occurred in Huntingdon County, authorities said.
The fatal collision happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday, August 19 on William Penn Highway in Henderson Township.
According to reports, a vehicle was heading west on the highway when it hit the rear of a buggy then struck a parked car outside Kwik Fill and plowed into the building. The vehicle finally came to a stop with its front end inside the store.
As a result of the crash, the occupant of the buggy died at the scene after sustaining fatal injuries. Another person was airlifted to UPMC Altoona for the treatment of injuries termed as serious by police. The driver of the parked car sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The identity of the deceased person was withheld.
It was not known what triggered the accident.
Authorities are investigating the collision.
