1 Hit and Killed by Amtrak Train near Torresdale Station

Torresdale, PA (September 4, 2017) – One person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train near the Torresdale station in Philadelphia Sunday evening.

According to SEPTA’s website, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. September 3 near the station along Grant Avenue and James Street.

The Trenton line was heading to New York City at the time of the crash. It was not why the victim was on the tracks at the time when the collision occurred.

A second train had to be brought to transport the stranded passengers.

Authorities are working to determine the reasons behind the accident.
